1. PERIOD OF WARRANTY In addition to any warranties or conditions implied by the Trade Practices Act, 1974 (as amended) or any other Statute or Regulation, we warrant all of our products against defective workmanship and faulty materials under normal use for twelve (12) months from the date of purchase (the Warranty).
To the extent permitted by law and for the purposes of the Warranty where the product is found to be defective during the Warranty period, our sole obligation under this Warranty is, at our option, to repair or replace, free of charge, each product or part thereof on condition that the machine or part in question is:
returned to us or to one of our Authorised Service Agents, freight pre-paid
found, on examination, to be suffering from a material or constructional defect
We cannot be held responsible for any repair other than those carried out by us or one of our Authorised Service Agents.
2. WARRANTY EXCLUSIONS, LIMITATIONS AND RIGHTS To the extent permitted by law and other than as required by the Trade Practices Act and other applicable legislation, we give no further warranties and conditions and make no representation whatsoever relating to the Makita (Australia) Product, the condition or quality or its suitability or fitness for any ordinary or special use or purpose.
The Warranty shall not apply where:
I) The Makita (Australia) Product is operated other than in accordance with the instructions provided in the Instruction Manual supplied.
II) Spare parts, accessories and/or components not supplied by Makita (Australia) Pty Ltd are used.
III) Normal servicing including tune-ups, lubricants, daily, weekly and quarterly maintenance which are fully explained in the Owner’s Instruction Manual (which are at the Owner’s cost) are not carried out.
IV) The owner fails to ensure that the blade or cutting attachment is correctly sharpened and adjusted, and/or fails to ensure that proper maintenance inspections are carried out as explained in the Owner’s Instruction Manual.
V) The tuning of the engine is not set to Dolmar’s specification as provided in the Owner’s Instruction Manual.
VI) Use of incorrect fuel or oil mix for the engine or use of incorrect lubrication for associated components results in damage to or failure of this Makita (Australia) Product.
VII) Alterations or modifications are made to the Makita (Australia) Product by any party other than us.
VIII) There has been negligent or reckless use or abuse of the Makita (Australia) Product.
IX) Any indirect or consequential loss, damage, cost or expense suffered by the Owner that may have resulted either directly or indirectly from the failure or malfunction of the Makita (Australia) Product.
X) The Makita (Australia) Product has been used in a commercial, hire or rental application.
Furthermore, to the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, damage, cost or expense suffered by the Owner or any other user of this Makita (Australia) Product that may have resulted either directly or indirectly from the use, failure or malfunction of the Makita (Australia) Product.
3. DUTIES OF THE OWNER The Owner should ensure that the Dealer returns the completed Warranty Registration Card enclosed with the Makita (Australia) Product within fourteen (14) days of the original purchase to:

OPERATOR SAFETY 1.Safety Precautions Safety precautions fully explained in the instruction manual must be strictly adhered to and include the following:
Do not perform any modifications on this Makita (Australia) product. This action may be dangerous and would void warranty
2.Maintenance Instructions To protect the life of this Makita (Australia) product and to prevent unnecessary breakdown the following inspections should be made regularly. Remember, if these inspections are not made the warranty claim cannot be accepted:
All further inspections, yearly maintenance or repairs must be carried out by an Authorised Service Agent. All of the above are fully explained in the owner’s instruction manual.
